Artificial Intelligence: New Innovation in Healthcare?

In our present world, technology is advancing rapidly. One area of rising technology is artificial intelligence (AI). The debate over the benefits and potential risks of A.I. has erupted in every field, including healthcare.

A recent article from Forbes dives into the possibility of AI- based innovation as tools to aid doctors and hospitals in these hard and overwhelming times. Hansa Bhargava, a physician and author of this article, speaks of their experience of burnout in the medical field that led to quitting full time medicine. Bhargava states, “Our healthcare system is broken, and healthcare workers are exhausted. … recent surveys have shown that 40% of the healthcare workforce intends to depart in the next 5 years.”

Bhargava then dives into A.I. innovation and how it has the “inherent ability to improve patient outcomes,” going on to say that AI-based products “have the potential to solve the very problems that contribute to the inefficiencies and administrative workload of our broken healthcare system.”

Check out the article to read more about the specific companies and AI innovations Bhargava mentions, and let us know what you think about this technology in healthcare, including your concerns.
