Story-Telling: “Black Women: Our Hope, Health, Healing”
Greeting Stewards,
A couple of weeks ago, we just finished up this year’s forum series, “Radical Hope.” This year’s theme focused on having radical hope in a post pandemic world, as we explore the intersection of our own health stories and the American healthcare system. Thank you to everyone who joined us this year and thank you to our four wonderful guest facilitators for being a part of our first “training the trainer” initiative.
With the theme of “Radical Hope” in mind, we wanted to share a series called “Black Women: Our Hope, Health, Healing” from the Ideastream Public Media. This three-part series focuses on telling the stories of Black women in Cleveland where it is ranked as one of the lowest cities in terms of income, health and education for Black women. The series also explores topics such as generational trauma, racism, mental illnesses, healing and more.
We would love to hear your thoughts on the series and the connection it has to our forums on Circle!
Speaking of Circle, as our forums have officially ended we want to let you know that the discussion and conversations are not! Circle is a space where we can continue the conversations we have in our forums and grow during the off-season of our forums.
Warmly,
Asheanna
