COVID-19 Test Kits: Expiration Dates & Efficiency

Greeting Stewards!

Summer has come to an end and fall is finally upon us. We wish everyone good health as the weather begins cooling.

Recently, COVID-19 cases are on the rise again in the United States. Last winter, the United States government sent COVID-19 test kits to American homes for free as a part of their plan to prepare for COVID-19. And you might be wondering if those COVID-19 test kits expire

The short answer is yes, the kits expire. But, most COVID-19 test kits can still be effective after the expiration date, it just depends on the brand. As a matter of fact, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a list of specific COVID-19 test kit brands where the shelf life has been extended to 22 months. Here’s an article from CBS that provides a list of those brands and addresses the expiration  question in more detail!

As for the current rise in Covid cases, we’d love to hear your thoughts about it over on Circle, where we’re continuing our conversations between forums.

Lastly, there are only two forums left this year! Our October forum is approaching very soon and spots are filling up fast. This will also be the final installment of our “training the trainer” initiative. Where we’re working with forum participants who want to learn more about our narrative health methodology, then facilitate the narrative health portion of a 2023 forum. Register now and feel free to share this opportunity to anyone who may be interested!

Warmly,

Asheannna
